Arvest Bank Welcomes Darla Marler to Treasury Management

Arvest Bank is pleased to announce that Darla Marler has joined the bank as a treasury management sales advisor serving the Joplin and Springfield markets.

After spending six years in healthcare, Marler returns to her banking roots with over 10 years of commercial banking and treasury management experience. In her new role at Arvest Bank, she will be responsible for working with commercial clients through a consultative approach, focusing on how to leverage technology and fraud prevention services to enhance efficiency of their company’s cash flow.

“Darla brings a wealth of commercial banking and treasury management knowledge to Arvest, as well as familiarity with the region she will be supporting,” said Carolyn Kennedy, executive director of the Treasury Management division. “She will be able to support her business clients to find ways to maximize their payables and receivables processes, along with providing solutions for potential barriers that may be limiting their ability to grow. We believe Darla is well-suited to provide a high level of expertise and support to the clients in her region and look forward to what she will be able to achieve in her new role with Arvest.”

Marler received her bachelor’s degree in communication from Missouri State University and is a graduate of the Richardson’s Consultative Sales Training course. Born and raised in Springfield, Marler has three children and was previously involved with the United Way and served as chair on the advisory board of the Lutheran Family and Children Services, and served on the board for the local chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society.

Arvest Bank Announces Gullett Hiring

Arvest Bank is pleased to announce it has hired Christy Gullett to join its Arvest Wealth Management team.


Gullett comes to Arvest with 15 years of industry experience, including 13 working specifically in the area of wealth management. In her role as a vice president and regional investment officer at Arvest, Gullett will help identify services and solutions for clients, specifically in the areas of advanced estate planning and wealth transfer strategies, among other duties.

Gullett is a graduate of Missouri Southern with bachelor’s degree in finance, with an emphasis in financial planning. Among other civic endeavors, Gullett has volunteered for the United Way, Joplin Humane Society and Ozarks Public Television. She lives in Joplin.

Arvest Bank Announces Phipps Hiring

Arvest Bank is pleased to announce the hiring of Doug Phipps.

Phipps, who has more than 17 years of industry experience, will serve as a commercial lender for the Joplin region, but Lamar and Golden City in particular. In that role, he will generate, evaluate and approve commercial loans, among other duties.

Phipps earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing at Missouri Southern State University. He is a board member for the Lamar Metro Club, among other civic endeavors. Phipps and his wife, Misty, have one son. They are members of Pathways United Methodist Church.

Arvest Wealth Management Announces Secker Hiring

Arvest Bank is pleased to announce the hiring of Eric Secker as a regional manager for its Arvest Wealth Management (AWM) division.

Secker brings more than 20 years of industry experience to his new role. His responsibilities will include market management, sales development management of the assigned AWM regional team, among other duties.

 

A graduate of Westminster College with a bachelor’s degree in history, Secker lives in Joplin with his wife, Louise, and their three children. Among other civic endeavors, he is the current president of The Miracle League of Joplin and a member of the Joplin Rotary Club.

Arvest Bank Announces Oxendine Hiring

Arvest Bank is pleased to announce the hiring of Terra Oxendine.

Oxendine, who has worked in the banking industry since 2006 and as a commercial lender for the last two years, will serve in that same capacity at Arvest. More specifically, she will conduct financial needs assessments and recommend the most appropriate products and services that fulfill customers’ immediate and future financial needs.

Oxendine earned an associate degree from Crowder College. Among other civic endeavors, she has been an award-winning volunteer for United Way and is an advocate for the Children’s Center of Southwest Missouri.

A member of Christ’s Community United Methodist Church, Oxendine lives in Joplin with her husband, Grant, and their two children.
